Wine Review #4 – Part 2: Shiraz?! jam jar 2009, Peter Lehmann Clancy’s 2006.
March 30th, 2010
My name is Matthew Harrison, and I’m a college student from Massachusetts and a lover of wine, ale, and Scotch.
In my fourth video review, I decided to go into a scary, scary world of unknowns. I’m after the Shiraz grape, and along the way I find myself in South Africa and Australia, opening screwtops along the way. Eek!
I try out South Africa’s jam jar 2009 Sweet Shiraz, which is a very sweet wine packaged in a bottle made to look like a jar of jam.
I then check out Peter Lehmann’s Clancy’s 2006 Shiraz blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, and while I find some very interesting flavors, I find that THIS WINE NEEDS DECANTING. Stay tuned for a short review later as I revisit this wine in the decanter.

Step-by-step recipe from Anne Kennedy of Greatfood.ie to make Quail wrapped in Bacon and cooked with Wine, Shallots and Vanilla. We used an Australian red wine from the Barossa called St Hallett Gamekeeper’s Reserve for the red wine version of the dish and a Tim Adams Semillon for the white version. Of course you can drink the rest of the bottle with the meal! Greatfood.ie is Ireland’s most popular recipe, food and wine website. Video/recipe copyright Anne Kennedy/Greatfood.ie
